Solar Energy in Action

If you love seeing solar technologies in action then there's no better place than Alice Springs! In addition to the small and large scale solar energy projects that were being installed as part of the Alice Solar City project, Alice Springs is also home to a world class solar energy demonstration facility.

You can download a solar trail map and guide to help you to navigate your way around Alice Springs solar energy installations.  Hard copies of the solar trail map can also be collected from the Alice Solar City Smart Living Centre.

Uterne Solar Power Station

 

Uterne is the largest tracking solar power station in Australia

Where: Turn off the Stuart Hwy onto Norris Bell Ave then right at the Road Transport Hall of Fame and continue down dirt road
When: Officially opened 28 July 2011
