To celebrate World Environment Day, Alice Solar City has announced revised pricing for the installation of residential solar power systems, creating some of the most competitive solar deals in Australia.
“We have been working with our supplier, BP Solar, to revise prices for Alice Springs residents and are excited to pass on a saving of over 60% off the retail price for installing solar power on their roof”, says Alice Solar City General Manager, Brian Elmer.
“This is 10% more than we offered previously which means that Alice Springs residents have access to some of the most attractive solar power system offers in the country.”
“It makes sense in a town that is one of the sunniest places in Australia.”
“A two kilowatt system for example, which is suitable for the average home will now only cost $8,598 compared to the recommended retail price of $21,158.”
The new prices take into account all the current rebates and subsidies that already exist, including the Alice Solar City rebate and the BP Solar Enviro-cashback in exchange for Renewable Energy Certificate (RECs).
Depending on the size of the solar power system, these revised prices will save residents an extra $900 to $2000 on the installed costs, compared to previous prices.
Residents will also earn more money back with an increased buy back rate of 49c per kilowatt hour for the electricity they generate from 1 July 2009 which will help to reduce the payback period on the initial investment.
Early adopters of solar power through Alice Solar City will not miss out on benefiting from this new deal.
“Customers who installed a BP Solar power system after June 2008 will receive a full year of the elevated buyback payment, regardless of when their system was installed”, says Brian Elmer.
“This amount could equate to between $720 and $1500.”
