    TEN PERCENT OF ALICE ROOFS TO GO SOLAR BY END OF 2010
    Alice Springs could become the first town of its size in Australia to have ten percent of its roofs with solar panels.
    Brian Elmer, the General Manager of Alice Solar City made the prediction today as he launched the 1000 Roofs in 1000 Days campaign, together with Mayor Damien Ryan.
    “In December, it will be 1000 days since Alice Springs became a Solar City, so we are issuing the community with a challenge to have 1000 solar systems installed by then – equivalent to about 10% of roofs.”, said Brian Elmer.

    SOLAR BULK PURCHASE SCHEME A FIRST FOR CENTRAL AUSTRALIA
    Central Australia’s first ever bulk purchase scheme for rooftop solar technology has been launched in Alice Springs, giving the town’s home and business owners access to exclusive solar deals.
    After a nationwide search for solar suppliers, Alice Solar City announced the scheme in response to an outpouring of interest from around 600 residents to install solar, after an end to its rooftop solar funding late last year.
    General Manager of Alice Solar City Brian Elmer says that the interest from residents was strong enough to warrant looking into such a scheme.

    To take advantage of the Australian Government program homeowners must book a free home sustainability assessment with the Green Loans assessor, who will be here from 17 February to 10 March.
