The Consortium
The Alice Solar City project is overseen by a consortium of local public and private organisations that supported the development of the project over a number of years.
The Alice Solar City consortium has seven members:
- Alice Springs Town Council (ASTC)
- Northern Territory Government (NTG)
- Power and Water Corporation (PWC)
- Desert Knowledge Co-operative Research Centre (DKCRC)
- Arid Lands Environment Centre (ALEC)
- Tangentyere Council
- Northern Territory Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NTCCI)
The Alice Springs Town Council is the lead proponent for the project who, alond with the Northern Territory Government and Power and Water Corporation, provide financial support to complement the funding provided by the Australian Government's Solar Cities and Renewal Remote Power Generation Programs. All Consortium members also provide significant and valuable in-kind support to the project.
In addition to the consortium members, a number of additional participants will provide valuable contributions to the project. They include:
