Alice Solar City knows there are lots of great reasons to go solar; in fact we think there could be at least 100 reasons! Throughout the 100 days of solar we would love to hear what you think are some great reasons for a business or home to go solar. All contributors to this Blog, who send us a reason (or two) to go solar will automatically go into the draw to win a hamper full of eco-friendly gadgets (valued at over $300). Here are ten reasons to go solar, to get you started:
- Because Alice Springs receives more solar energy than any other major town in Australia
- The energy you produce will be fed into local power grid
- You will receive premium buyback rates from PowerWater for the electricity you generate
- Alice Springs offers some of the most competitive solar deals in Australia
- It will pay for itself in 7-10 years
- As a business you will be a leader in the community
- Deals run out on 31 Dec
I can think of lots of good reasons, but the main one for me is that it is for the future - one day we will all be running our homes on solar. Might as well jump on the train now!
Elisabeth | Mon, 27/07/2009 - 10:55I believe that future generations will have to become more eco-friendly. And it will get to the stage where it isn't a choice for them. It is a choice for us, and what a message we can send to future generations; we had a choice to make a positive change, and we did it!
Helen | Wed, 09/09/2009 - 17:34Main reason for a lot of people is that Power and Water are increasing their charges by 20%.
Geoff | Wed, 09/09/2009 - 20:06Because using generating your own power makes you more aware of your usage and thus you cut down on power.
Ben | Fri, 16/10/2009 - 12:57Because we should do on a micro level what the world needs to do on a macro level. Generate renewable energy and create better energy effiencies. This will allow us in good faith to demand more renewables on a national scale
Ben | Fri, 16/10/2009 - 12:59It might cost in the short term but in the long term it will save money thereby creating a much better australian economy
